Leaving Cert students in Ireland, from Transition Year to Sixth Year. Anyone curious can pick “None, just exploring” as their school year.

You can add any of the 40 Leaving Cert subjects, and the LCVP Link Modules, at Higher, Ordinary or Foundation level where the subject has it. The Exam archive has the SEC’s papers and marking schemes for them.

Some tools cover fewer subjects so far: worked solutions are for Higher Maths, Applied Maths, Chemistry and Physics; Listening is French, German, Irish and Spanish; flashcards are Biology, French, German and Spanish.

New accounts get a Getting started checklist at the foot of the sidebar: find questions by topic, see a worked solution, plan your week, choose subject colours and customise your duck. Each step opens the right page for you.

After that, Home shows what’s up next each day: a first exam, cards due, a study block, or the subject you were last working on.

Home is where you land after signing in. It shows your road from September to the Leaving Cert, with breaks, mocks and orals along the way, and an Up next card for what to do now.

Choose Customise to show or hide its sections.

The exams usually start on the Wednesday after the June bank holiday. For 2027, that would be Wednesday 9 June. Home counts down to it.

The SEC publishes the official timetable during the year, so check examinations.ie (opens in a new tab) for exact dates.

A free account gives you:

There’s no time limit on the free plan, and you don’t need a card to sign up.

PRO costs €29 a month, including tax. It’s billed monthly and renews each month until you cancel.

There’s one plan: no yearly plan, and no free trial. Your first payment comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee instead (see below).

Open Settings › Plan and choose Manage billing. Billing opens in Stripe, where you can cancel, see invoices or update your card.

You keep PRO until the end of the month you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again. You can also cancel by emailing help@pointsgame.ie.

Signing out doesn’t cancel a subscription. Deleting your account does, straight away.

Yes. Your first PRO payment comes with a 14-day full refund, no reason needed. Email help@pointsgame.ie from your account’s email address within 14 days of paying, and we’ll refund the card you paid with within 14 days.

This doesn’t affect your rights under Irish and EU consumer law. The details are in the terms.

Settings › Plan shows the date: “Renews” while it’s active, “Ends” once you’ve cancelled.

PRO doesn’t stop by itself after the exams. It renews monthly until you cancel.

Payments go through Stripe, which handles your card details. PointsGame never sees or stores your full card number.

Your invoices are in Stripe too: open Settings › Plan and choose Manage billing.

Yes. Sign in to the student’s account and upgrade there, paying with the parent’s card. PRO belongs to the account it was bought on, and the person who buys it is responsible for the purchase.

Not at the moment. Everyone pays the same price, and checkout doesn’t take codes.

No. PRO bought as a one-off payment before September 2026 keeps the terms it was sold with: it lasts for good, with nothing to renew. Settings › Plan shows it as “Lifetime”.

Sign up with Google, or with your email: we send you a 6-digit code to type in. There’s no password to remember.

Then you choose a username, your school year and your subjects and levels, so PointsGame shows your papers first.

Google blocks sign-in inside apps’ own browsers, such as the one Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat opens links in. Open PointsGame in Safari or Chrome instead, or sign up with your email.

You don’t need it. PointsGame doesn’t use passwords any more: on the sign-in page, enter your email and we’ll send you a 6-digit code to sign in with.

If you signed up with Google, choose Continue with Google instead.

It can take a minute. Check your spam or junk folder, and check the email address shown above the code boxes. To fix a typo, go back and enter it again.

After a minute you can ask for a new code. Use the code in the latest email: it replaces the one before.

In Settings › Profile, choose Change beside your email address, then confirm the new address.

Open Settings › Subjects. Add or remove subjects and switch between Higher, Ordinary and Foundation (where the subject has it) at any time.

In Settings › Profile, pick Transition year, Fifth year, Sixth year, or None, just exploring.

Yes. In Settings › Appearance, choose Light, Dark, or System to follow your device. You can also pick a colour for each subject there, and turn on Reduce motion to calm the animations.

Open Settings › Your duck and choose its expression and hat. It saves as you go.

Yes. PointsGame runs in your browser on phones, tablets and laptops. Sign in on each one and your subjects, plan and progress are the same everywhere.

No. An account is for one student, and sharing or selling access isn’t allowed under the terms. Your flashcard schedule and progress also only make sense for one person.

Open Settings › Profile and choose Delete account at the bottom. You’ll type your email to confirm, and may be asked to sign in again.

Your subjects, study plan, flashcards and progress are deleted straight away, and a PRO subscription is cancelled at the same moment, so you won’t be charged again. This can’t be undone. Lifetime PRO can’t be moved to another account.

In Papers, open Filters and tick the topics you want; you can tick several. You can also narrow by year, paper, question number and sitting, or search for words in the question.

Every question from every paper on that topic is then listed together, so you can work through a topic instead of a whole paper.

Each question in Papers shows its own part of the SEC’s marking scheme, so you can check your answer without hunting through the whole scheme. Whole marking schemes are in the Exam archive.

Higher Level Maths, Applied Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Maths and Applied Maths have the most; Chemistry and Physics have them for part of their questions so far.

Solutions for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 papers are free. Earlier years come with PRO.

The marking scheme is the SEC’s: it shows the answers examiners accept and how the marks are given. A worked solution is ours: it works through the question step by step, the way you’d write it out in the exam.

The SEC’s own files, by subject and year: exam papers, marking schemes, and the audio, video and image inserts that go with some exams. Pick a subject and level, then download what you need.

In Chrome or Edge on a computer, Save to folder saves your selection into a folder you choose, sorted by subject and year. Elsewhere, files download one at a time.

Yes. Download it from the Exam archive as a PDF and print it from there.

Turn on Dim papers in Settings › Appearance. It softens the white scans to a light grey, and shows while the theme is Dark or System.

Past aural exams for French, German, Irish and Spanish, at Higher and Ordinary level. Each question comes with its audio, the transcript and the marking scheme.

English translations of the transcripts come with PRO. On the free plan you can see the first translated line, and the audio, transcript and marking scheme stay open to everyone.

Biology, French, German and Spanish. Biology’s cards are made from past exam questions and their marking schemes. French has every word from the listening exams, plus a comprehension deck; German and Spanish have vocabulary decks.

More subjects are on the way; vote for the ones you want on the feature requests board.

You can browse every card in Flashcards › Browse, and see an example of the Stats page. Studying the cards, with your own schedule, stats and queue, comes with PRO.

Flashcards use spaced repetition. Each answer sets when you’ll see the card again: soon if you got it wrong, and further away each time you get it right, just before you’d be likely to forget it. That way you spend your time on the cards you don’t know yet.

The schedule is worked out by FSRS, a model fitted to millions of real reviews. How does spaced repetition work? explains it with examples.

They tell the schedule how well you knew the card:

• Wrong: you didn’t know it. It comes back within minutes.
• Hard: you got it, but only just.
• Right: you knew it.
• Easy: you knew it straight away, so it can wait longer.

Only Wrong counts as forgetting. Keys 1 to 4 answer, Space shows the answer, and Z undoes your last answer.

Ten a day is a good start, and it’s what we suggest. Each new card comes back for reviews over the following weeks, so more new cards today means more reviews later.

Change it on the decks page with New cards per day, up to 100. It’s a limit, not a target: days you miss aren’t added on later.

Yes. Use Learn extra today on the deck to add 10, 20, 50 or all of its remaining new cards, for today only. Your usual limit stays as it was.

That’s normal: cards keep coming due while you’re away. Do your due cards first, a session at a time, and lower your new cards per day for a while until you’ve caught up.

Flashcards › Queue shows how many cards are due today, tomorrow and over the next two weeks, for each subject.

Press R to replay a card’s audio. To stop it playing when a card opens, open View settings while studying and turn off Play audio automatically.

Not yet. You can add your own note to any card, which shows each time the card does. If you’d like to make whole cards, tell us on the feature requests board.

It’s a weekly calendar for your study. Add your school hours once, then plan study blocks around them, each with a subject and a topic, as well as other activities like sport or work.

Open the block and turn on Repeat weekly. When you later move one week’s block, you can change only that one or all of them.

• N adds an event
• T goes to today
• ← and → move between weeks
• ⌘C, ⌘V and ⌘D copy, paste and duplicate an event (Ctrl on Windows)

Your best six subjects count. Each grade is worth:

• Higher: H1 100, H2 88, H3 77, H4 66, H5 56, H6 46, H7 37, H8 0
• Ordinary: O1 56, O2 46, O3 37, O4 28, O5 20, O6 12, O7 and O8 0
• Foundation: F1 20, F2 12, the rest 0

The points calculator adds them up and picks your best six for you. The most you can get is 625.

Higher Level Maths at H6 or better earns 25 extra points, but only if Maths is one of your best six. The calculator adds them for you.

Yes. The Link Modules give 66 for a Distinction, 46 for a Merit and 28 for a Pass, and can be one of your best six. Add them as a subject.

Yes. Set a goal on the points calculator and a bar shows how close your grades bring you.

The calculator is a guide: the CAO decides the points for your course, so check cao.ie (opens in a new tab) where it matters.

A video course on how to study for the Leaving Cert, not on the subjects themselves: setting up your study space, the phone problem, procrastination, sleep, stress, planning study sessions, writing better essays and the day before the exam, with students sharing how their own Leaving Cert went.

Each lesson has a video, a summary and, for some, a short list of things to do. They come with PRO.

What the features need: your email and sign-in, your name, username and school year, your subjects and levels, and your study data (your plan, flashcard answers and progress). If you buy PRO, Stripe keeps the billing details.

We don’t sell personal data, send marketing email or use advertising trackers. The privacy policy has the full list and who helps us run the service.

Because we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics count visits without cookies or profiles of you, and only store what’s needed to keep you signed in and the site working. See the cookie policy.

Yes, it’s made for Leaving Cert students, including under-18s, and we apply the same protective defaults to everyone. Don’t post personal details such as your address, phone number or timetable on the feature board.

A parent or guardian can contact us about a child’s data at help@pointsgame.ie.

Yes. Email help@pointsgame.ie to access, correct, delete or receive your data, or to object to analytics. We may check it’s you, and normally reply within a month.

No. PointsGame is independent. Past papers and marking schemes come from the State Examinations Commission, but the SEC and the Department of Education don’t endorse us.

Check official sources, such as the SEC and the CAO, when a decision depends on it.

Refresh the page and check you’re signed in to the account you paid on: Settings › Plan should show PRO. Payment confirmation can take a moment.

If it still says Free, email help@pointsgame.ie from that account with the email on your receipt, and we’ll sort it out.

No, you need to be online. If your connection drops during a flashcard session, your answers are kept on the device and saved once you’re back online.
