Who we are
The Points Game is an online course platform helping Irish Leaving Certificate students maximise their CAO points. We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.

- Email address — provided when you sign up for free access or purchase the course.
- Purchase information — payment details are processed by Stripe. We store a record that a purchase was made, not your card details.
- Course progress — which lessons you have completed and checklist items you have ticked.
- Subject and study preferences — subjects you select, topic confidence ratings, and study planner data.
Why we collect it
- To provide you with access to the course, tools, and free content.
- To track your learning progress across lessons.
- To send you study tips and course updates by email (with your consent).
- To process purchases and manage your account.
Legal basis
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — for marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — to provide the course and tools you signed up for or purchased.
Who we share data with
We use the following third-party services to operate this platform. Your data may be processed by them in accordance with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — sending emails.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Mux — video delivery.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the website to function, such as authentication session cookies. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it without undue delay.
