About this policy
This policy explains how PointsGame handles your personal data. For questions or privacy requests, email help@pointsgame.ie.
What we use and why
- Account and study data, such as your email, profile, subjects, planner, progress, flashcards, notes, and preferences, to provide PointsGame.
- Billing and support data, such as subscription status, Stripe references, billing details, and messages, to manage payments and help you.
- Community data, such as your username, feature-board posts, replies, and reactions, to run and moderate the feature board.
- Technical and security data, such as IP address, device information, requested pages, and security logs, to protect and operate the service.
- Analytics data, such as page views, deliberately coded product events, referral data, and limited browser/device/network information, to understand and improve PointsGame. We disable PostHog browser persistence and person profiles.
We receive this information from you, your device, your use of PointsGame, and the providers used for sign-in and billing. We process it to perform our contract, meet legal obligations, protect the service and its users, and understand aggregate product use. We do not sell personal data, send promotional email, or use advertising pixels.
How long we keep it
Account and learning data is kept while your account is active and then deleted or anonymised after a valid deletion request, unless we must keep part of it. Billing records are kept for tax, accounting, disputes, and chargebacks. Support messages, community content, backups, security logs, and analytics events are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for their purpose. PostHog browser persistence is disabled.
Students under 18
PointsGame is made for Leaving Certificate students, including people under 18. We limit collection to what the service needs and apply the same protective defaults to everyone. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and agree to the Terms of Service with you.
Do not post sensitive details such as your address, phone number, timetable, or health information. A parent or guardian may contact us about a child's data, but we may need to verify their authority and consider the child's own rights.
Your choices and rights
You need an email and sign-in information to create an account, and billing information to buy PRO. Other profile and study information is needed only for the features that use it.
You may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive your data, or object to certain uses including analytics. Email help@pointsgame.ie. We may verify your identity and normally respond within one month. You may also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Changes
We will update this page and its date when our practices change. We will give additional notice where a change materially affects existing data.
